Great images are a result of a collaboration. I am so lucky to have an incredibly talented stylist to work with, my sister Taru.
Featured portrait sessions with Jutta and Lilja. Styling, hair and makeup by Taru Rossi.
I spent seven weeks in Finland this summer with my family and friends. The visit is always such a hype. We look forward to the family time, but also to photograph and create beautiful memories for a lifetime. Over the past few years, our family portrait sessions have become a passion, fun obsession, and a bonding event.
There are so many aspects that go into a beautiful portrait; lighting, location, theme, emotions, and being creative. Stretching our creativity was our goal for this summer. And how about those finishing touches? Styling, clothing, colors, hair and make-up, and creating a comfortable environment for your subject.
Meet my HMUA, Taru. Her connection with clients, gentle touch with a make-up brush, creativity, and vision with the final result is beyond anything. We share, live, and breath our vision with same heart and mind. I’m not even pointing out her wicked humor that is purely enjoyable and spot on. She has a gift to pull strings together in a most beautiful way. I am so proud to work with her.
As a portrait photographer, I understand the importance of a professional stylist. It is a gateway to a more confident session. And incredible portraits. Collaboration is inspiring! When a client feels beautiful, confident, and relaxed, it reflects back to hers or/his portraits.
“Photography is mutually empowering; It evokes vulnerability and strength – on both sides of the camera.”
– Suvi Tory
Portrait photography is a journey – an empowering one. I believe this pertains to everyone involved with a portrait session; photographer, subject, stylist, and your assistant. What a gift it is to share this journey with someone you love so deeply. I know she will have a beautiful future in front of her. Making her dreams come true, where she shines the brightest.
Stay tuned for more stories and behind the scenes from our portrait sessions in Finland.
