I think everyone can agree it’s been a long couple of months since the start of social distancing and lock-down measures. Sometimes when times are dark, it helps to look forward to a fresh start. That’s what relaxing social restrictions will feel like – a new beginning.
To help with everyone’s fresh start, I’ve created a new window display at my studio with the help of a dear friend of mine, Mel Narr. If you’re not familiar with this talented and kind lady, you can check out her business, LandWorks Landscape Services.
Mel gets the credit behind the design for my new window display, and I can’t thank her enough for her help. It was so much fun to spend some quality girl-time with her while exploring our shared passion for decorating with vintage and creative flair. I hope my clients and people walking by the studio will enjoy the results of our work.
This window was inspired by my love of uplifting, delicate, and beautiful scenes. We kept color coordination and symbolism in mind when creating the display. The end result reminds me of a great quote I love:
“Elegance is when the inside is as beautiful as the outside.“ – Coco Chanel
To achieve the look in the display window, we used silk flowers, including Stargazer lilies, roses, lavender, delphinium, and peonies. That reminds me of another quote I hope all the women who walk through my studio remember when it comes time for their photo shoot:
“I want to encourage women to embrace their own uniqueness. Because just like a rose is beautiful, so is a sunflower, so is a peony. I mean, all flowers are beautiful in their own way, and that’s like women too.” – Miranda Kerr
Isn’t it rather silly how much time we can sometimes spend wanting to look like someone else when we’re fabulous in our own way? It would be like a beautiful rose hating itself for not looking like a peony, or vice versa.
I hope you enjoy my display, and my greatest wish for you is that you’ll see the beauty in yourself and that you’ll make the most of your fresh start this year. Hope to see you soon!
